ViP622 Forum Needed

Yeah, to me having a forum called "HD" that pertains to hardware also along with a technical forum is confusing. Thats just my 0.02 cents. Honestly thats why my post got moved now that I look at it. I naturally ASSumed that a 622 ? went in the technical forum. :)

Here's a thought...

Drop the main forum and split E* into three forums:
  • Dish Service (general questions on E* service)
  • Dish Programming (all programming topics and uplink reports)
  • Dish Hardware (all receiver technical questions, s/w release notes, etc)
I'm going to reverse myself and second that suggestion.

I find that there are now "622" threads in all the Dish Forums. Why?

Because that is what is new and what is not understood.

People are not asking " What sort of LNBs do I put in my Dish500 for my 301 ? " Everything who is getting SD equipment these days has never posted to an Internet Forum, and has the installer handle all technical issues.

So, everything these days is about HD.

Perhaps SatelliteGuys can be more "advanced" than all the other Forums, by making HD the "assumed default" (as will be the case soon everywhere), and adopting DWS44's thoughtful proposal.

Here is an example I put together, If we did the Dish section, we would have to do Direct etc...

You cant to that though. As all the posts will end up in the Dish Servicc area. :)

That was our origional idea when we credated the 3 areas we have now but it didn't work.

I dont see us changing or adding additional Dish or DirecTV areas at this time.

Scott, you can't leave Gen Disc alone and change the other two forum titles to these above or something like it?
