For a Hopper Duo? I could almost see the need for a node, just to add a Joey, but a hub, or any hybrid equipment, kind of seems like overkill. Also, mmc-dsm said that he would only be using it for one TV, so I doubt that even a node would be needed, although I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong about that.of course you will have to do a conversion from Dishpro to a solo or duo hub conversion because the new setup requires that you have to use a hybrid LNB Type setup since they have changed it so much.
I was looking at replacing my VIP612 in the next months, the Hopper Duo would be the best equivalent? (I only need DVR and HD for 1 TV)
And as for installation, does anybody know if it will simply connect into my existing setup (Dishpro) or will I have to do the node conversion?

Good point. With Dish Pro (non-plus) it would probably only operate as a single-tuner, just like Wally.Hybrid shouldn’t be a requirement but a Dish Pro Plus (DPP) upgrade would be needed.
Well, guess what? Modern ViP receivers are not being updated anymore, so how much maintenance is there? It's all more about maintenance of the fee base, IMO.I suspect it’s maintenance of the code base.
Can a retailer answer this... they are not stopping support of VIP equipment, they are just not activating any new leased equipment for new customers. Will they allow purchased VIP receivers to be turned on and off like they did the 922?

That's probably the only one, since it can be used with a Hopper. My 211k gets updates often.

According to DISH they're getting rid of the 222's and 722's to provide High Definition to every TV.
I personally never liked duo receivers like the 322/222/722
