Hi all,

So as much as I've spoken highly of my 922, I got back from vacation today to see that my 922 was off and the fan was running. I was wondering why it showed offline when I tried to sling a program.

Anyway - I rebooted it numerous times via unplugging it. Never got an error and it seemed to want to boot as normal. Once it would get to either the "searching for satellite signal" or even as far as downloading the guide, the receiver completely shuts off. No lights on the front and nothing on my tv screen. However, when it shuts off I hear that fan still running at a slightly higher speed.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it dead? Dish is already shipping me a replacement but I will not have tv for 3 days now which sucks.

Any help from anyone would be great.

When I was a DISH customer using a 922, I always had a standby 211 in the closet ready to be activated when a 922 went down. Since I went thru 7 of them I think it was a prudent step, in fact I still have it in the closet. Suppose I should put it up on Ebay since I am no longer a DISH customer.

I recommend a light covering of butter and then the jam of your choice.

Time to hop on.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to activate the replacement when it arrives, and look into upgrading to a hopper with sling.

There you go!! Was going to advise that, but some 922 owners seem willing to go down with the ship.

Edit: If your really want a Hopper, contact DIRT tomorrow. Maybe they can arrange for you to refuse delivery of 922 and get a Hopper/Joey on it's way.

Hopper w/sling wiring from old hardware
