Out here somewhere
I'm looking to buy another TV that will be in a different room. I want to run it off the "TV OUT" on the 211K using a coaxial cable. Is this out channel 3 ? Would the picture be widescreen if tuned to a HD channel with the receiver?

Thanks in Advance, Gerry

TV2 Out channels are selectable, usually 60 or above for "Air", 73 and up for "Cable". Mine is 60, which I believe is factory default setting.
Menue/System Setup/Installation/Modulator Setup.
If you use Air, be sure the channel you select is not a broadcasting channel.

Thanks KAB.. what about..

Does it produce 16x9 output if tuned to a HD channel?

Thanks, Gerry

I'd say that is rather misleading. An RF output is only a standard definition output. Such outputs are normally expected to go to a 4:3 SDTV. There is nothing in this signal that tells your HDTV what the aspect ratio is, so you are going to have to change your HDTV to (at minimum) stretch the signal.

If the 211 has an anamorphic widescreen setting that works on the RF output, then that would give the best quality because you could stretch the picture (only) horizontally with your HDTV. The normal way an HD receiver displays a widescreen picture on an SD output is to "letterbox" it. That means you would have to stretch the picture with your HDTV in both directions to fill the screen. More upscaling = poorer PQ.

AAD channels question?
