Hey everyone,

I've been having a problem with my VIP211. At around 300pm today, my receiver began to drop some signals. At around 600pm (est), I tried to watch a basketball game and there was no ESPN2. Therefore, I went ahead and did a hard restart (unplugged it and let it sit for 30 seconds). Now, it will not aquire any satellites and just sits in the "Acquiring Satellite" window.

The I reason I mentioned the times that some signals were being lost is because I ran a System Info test at 700pm. Everything checked out ok, but when I went to details it told me that from 306pm to the present, the signal had been lost 11 times or so. I talked to a Dish rep and as usual, they were no help. I checked the switch, signals, system, etc... and all were in the green and good. However, the receiver will not acquire the sats. It starts at 67.5 and transponder 22 at 0 of 5 and then goes shows no satellite, transponder 0, and 1 of 5. This repeats infinitely.

Any ideas??

It would be nice to have the system up and running for the bowl games but what can you do I suppose. Thanks in advance!! Cheers!!!!!

Similar problem - ViP 211 Check Switch

I had a similar problem with my ViP 211 receiver yesterday afternoon/evening. The Check Switch would not go through and I reset the receiver several times while trying to do a successful Check Switch. Had Cust Service online for a while. Then they suggested switching the 211 (in Family Room) with the 811 (in basement). Once I did that, the 211 was able to run through the Check Switch (in basement) and seems to be working normally. The 811 also seems to be working in the Family Room now. Note that I have a DPP44 (with the signal insertion at the basement receiver end).

I would like to ultimately put it back per original configuration, since I watch the HDTV local channels mostly in the Family Room, which requires the 211 receiver.

Any help would be appreciated.
