Wow I wish those were my dishes! :D

I wish I could do animation like that (especially the Opening!) it would spice up the SatelliteGuys Videos a lot! :D

Fancy shmancy video effects.... I was expecting to see the man in the suit.

One Dish for each bird. :)

I came close to having it. There’s an abandoned farm out there that I plunked down cash so I could go harvest it but I had to abandon the dream, I’m just not physically able anymore. *sniff* *sniff*

Same here. You a candidate for the one-way trip to Mars by the Dutch company?

I would go. Yes I would.

Pioneer women of the 21st century. We did it before, it will be done again someday..
Unfortunately I’m too old and broken down, they need young, able bodied people.
BUT, if they open a retirement home on Mars, I’m up for it! :D

I have always been deeply fascinated with Mars. I’m real big on all the brainy stuff on the Science Channel, especially space stuff..

I'm too old too. Though I do hope they take some older. The maturity will be needed. Would be interesting to meet some selected candidates. They've got to have some interesting background stories.

What's the longest anyone has continuously lived in Antarctica ? That's a climatological paradise compared to Mars.

Think they will have to live underground due to the radiation on the surface. No atmosphere or functional magnetosphere to ward off the bad stuff we don't have to worry about here on earth or low earth orbit.

But I HAVE read of Japanese considerations of putting hotels and retirement villas on the moon.

This is a good point. Relatively speaking, no human has spent a very long time in space. Considering radiation and bone degeneration (astronauts literally pee out the calcium in their bones while in space), it's possible humans can't go into space for long periods and remain healthy.

I did see an article about a company in California that has developed a 3D printer for construction of buildings. One of the applications they mentioned is the building of structures on the moon and other planets. Regarding what Cham said, here's a 10-year-old article on the matter. Could be more recent data out there, too: http://science1.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2004/17feb_radiation/
The most recent data indicates that the surface of Mars is more radioactive than previously thought, as the soil itself is emitting. May require deeper shelters than planned, to get below the radioactive layer. Sent from my iPhone using SatelliteGuys
