i have a viacast reciever and a rca 18" dish and i have it pointed to im pretty sure a directtv satellite in the sw sky i have great signal low quality and i just want to get something to work it just says no signal and i have been looking around for the numbers to put in for lnb lo, down link freq symbol rate and so on all in khz and i cant find anything can anyone help? i just want to try to get picture im usually the one telling people how do things bt this is a turn around. thanks and maybe someone has a good system for figuring out this kinda thing for he future or other aimings figuring the numbers with whats given on certain sites

There are no FTA channels on DirecTV......

Have a look here for (legal) channels you can expect to get with an 18" dish.

Give us your zip code and we will give you all the angles to the satellites in your area. You will really need a 30" dish(Min.) and a KU LNBF to get 98% of the FTA channels up there.....

wow thanks looks like i have to do some dish relocation i have it on a fence that only can see south and south west with the house wall north and south to he left of the dish thanks and tommorow ill have to find out about the lnb settings

The DirecTV/Dishnotwork LNB use a L.O. of 11250

If you have a single LNB DirecTV dish, its probably pointed at 101w, which is useless for FTA.

Repoint your dish to 119w, and you'll get NASA, Dish Network 101 (Dish welcome channel), a religious channel, a couple of slate channels, and a LOT of music on the audio channels.

Note the LO is 11250 instead of 10750. If you have an dish network receiver it can be used to get the best signal. No sub needed to use the signal menu.

thanks i have someone with a dish network reciever and im going to try to get ahold of that, so i will try that
