Hi

I signed up today for FIOS, with an install next week.
they said I was going to get a 20/5 MB stream.

I was wondering if any one has used this service and how it compared to Roadrunner.

The upload is the best part, but the download is no slouch.
I don't think there is anything out there that can compare in speed out there.

wow that is some nice speeds fios has. I have roadrunner and i have 15mb down but only 768 upload and that's on turbo. If i had the chance to switch to fios i would. I heard many people are happy on fios, especially for the great upload speed.

15/15 and/or 20/20 should be offered in some areas soon or now. I think NY has the 50/20 option. Most servers can't keep up so sometimes its wasting money IMO.

Thank You All

I was wondering , about the decision to change.

Seems from what was said I did good.

Will let you know how the install and converson goes next week.

Thanks Again

Your very lucky to have access to Verizon FIOS services so you should order without a doubt. You "will not" find faster speeds from any company in the USA right now for home services. When you do have it installed just keep in mind it could take quite a while because this is a complex installation. With that said don't be worried if its been 2+ hours and the tech isn't done yet.

Oh and welcome to SatelliteGuys and you should be very proud of your son. He is very well respected by many people on many websites beyond SatelliteGuys.

Well Yesterday I had FIOS installed.:)

The install went very well, the tech was here two hours ahead of time after a call to make sure that was ok.

All the equipment was installed inside my basement.

Reused the existing coax to my computer.

Tested my speed before and after, what a difference.
have about 2 and 1/2 times better download, and 5 times better upload. :up

you cant just go by this pricing as it varies based on area, for instance in my area the cheapest package is 47.99, first month free, $10 off months 2-7, 10 gift card but its for 10/2, and they go all the way up to a 50/20 for 94.99 a month

You are very very lucky to have Verizon Fios. I wish we could get it in our area. They have no idea when they will be coming. I go to Tampa every year to visit relatives. They have the Verizon Fios 20/5 and it is awesome.
