"The increase in subscribers puts Verizon's FiOS TV service at 4.2 million. The company also reported it had added 201,000 FiOS Internet subs, bringing its total to 4.8 million users."
Okay, my problem is they are slowly (with slowly being the operative word in this sentence) laying fiber in some areas where they already have existing franchise agreements, but mostly they are increasing market penetration. For example, they could probably pickup another 25K customers if they build-out my county in Virginia. Of course, they only have two more years to meeting the 7-year build-out requirement...but they've yet to upgrade the cable plants or run fiber to more than 50% of the population. Hopefully we'll see Verizon build-out existing areas and seek franchise agreements in new areas when the economy improves.
