Anyone else interested in this show? Looks good from the previews I have seen.

Agreed! This one is on my top three list for new shows of the season (Sons of Anarchy, Walking Dead and Justified are my favs ATM).
But am going into it a bit skeptical because clever editing can make any mediocre show look good.

Cheers, K

I remember Vega$. Didn't particularly care for it, but I remember it. Now if I could just remember what I had for breakfast.

After first episode tonight I think I'll give this one a chance. Sheriff Lamb is based on a real life LV sheriff of the same name. The mobster is a composite character. The scenes of classic 1960 Fremont Street look so good they had to be CGI, especially since some casinos in the show had fictitious names. Compare to something actually filmed there at that time, the original Oceans 11, and I wonder if their re-creation is more like 1950 Vegas than 1960. We'll see how this works out.

I liked the first episode and for the most part liked it. I just hope that as the show goes on the cowboy cop dosen't keep doing illegal things to find info and get his man. If they keep doing that the series will be as believable as Harrys Law.

The thing that didn't seem authentic was the outside shots of the strip when these casinos had these wild computer animated signs. In this time period the signs could sequence up to 8 things while these signs on the show drew the logo with lights from left to right filling up the logo. To do something like that you would need a computer and there were no computers then. Other signs however were true and faithful. Another thing on the signs and lights I noticed was that when they showed the bulbs the bulbs were led lights, not the old style incandescent lights which would have been used in that period.

I 'm just not into watching more shows set in the 60s. Last year was Playboy club and Airplane show about the stewardesses. I was a little boy in the 60s and really don't want to relive it. Besides I don't like shows about gambling and mob people and if you seen one show with Dennis Quaid , you've seen them all. He acts the same in every one.
