Yes, RR Sat gave us the new info when they began our uplink. We have now updated the website. Can you check and make sure you're receiving the feed? Thanks!

I did not even have that frequency programmed into my glorystar box. I tried to program it in, but I get absolutely no signal from it. It is almost as if it doesn't exist. ???????

Very easy to add this new channel:
  • Press P.Scan key on the remote and Power Scan Galaxy25 KU
or
  • Scan only for the new transponder:
  1. Press the Menu key on the remote
  2. Enter the TP Scan menu screen (see attachment VBS1)
  3. Select Satellite Galaxy25KU 97.0W
  4. Enter Frequency 11739
  5. Select Polarity Vertical
  6. Enter Symbolrate 22000
  7. Select Network OFF
  8. Select Save Edit, Press the OK key
  9. Press the Yellow key to scan for available FTA channels
  10. When prompted with "Do you want to save?", Select YES, Press the OK key (see attachment VBS2)
It is a good idea to learn how to edit your channel list to remove any unwanted channels!

Tried doing it both ways, and I am still not picking up any signal from the frequency. I seem to have problems with some of the frequencies on Galaxy 25 as far as weakness, especially at night, so I am not sure if that is part of the problem. I have tried to adjust and tweak, but when I do it too much, I lose everything. The way I have it now, I still get AMC 4 fantastically strong and I get some of Galaxy 25 real well (especially the TBN channels). Could it be the here in Upstate New York, we just can't get a good enough aim to get everything??? I am in Fulton, which is a small city about 1/2 hour north north west of Syracuse.

That transponder is weak here in Minnesota (45N) so its possible there are issues with that TP. Its a new TP been up for maybe 3 weeks now so hopefully they crank up the power

Cool. Thanks for the info. Glad I am not just nuts here. I can nt get over how much stronger AMC 4 seems to be than Galaxy 25. Or for that matter, I can not believe how much stronger some parts of Galaxy 25 is from other parts.

Transponder Comparisons on a 90cm GEOSATpro dish with single 0.4dB NR/ 55dB gain LNBF, 7PM PST, Northern California, Clear Skies, 68 deg. F.

12177 Vertical 23,000: -52dBm, 6.0dB S/N

11836 Vertical 20,765: -56dBm, 3.9dB S/N

11966 Horizontal 22,000: -54dBm, 4.9dB S/N

11739 Vertical 22,000: -57dBm, 1.6dB S/N

The previous Bob Jones transponder near this same frequency had a great signal, so the low signal quality is most likely related to the uplink signal or the link budget.

With a poor signal like this it will be a difficult channel to receive. We will check with the uplinker about the status of the transponder.

It has to be at the uplink. Here are the numbers on my setup
Visionsat IV200 and a .4 LNB on my T90 4 degrees off center

12177-85
11836-77
11966-85
11740-61

so 11740 is weaker

VBS Radio

i tried the freq that are listed but could not find 11740 on Galaxy 25, are the coordinates right?

For comparison in Louisiana on a tuner card(shows lower numbers) 90cm QPH-031...

12177 Vertical 23,000: 78% strength, SNR = 11.7db

11836 Vertical 20,765: 68% strength, SNR = 10.2db

11966 Horizontal 22,000: 77% strength, SNR = 11.6db

11739 Vertical 22,000: 54% strength, SNR = 8.3db

Looks like I get the same as everyone else.

Pansat 3500 Quality, 1.2 Meter Dish

12177 V 22997 - 90%
11836 V 20770 - 85%
11966 H 22000 - 85%
11739 V 22000 - 85%

Could it be the footprint (I am in Southern California) or maybe my 1.2 Meter dish makes up for the loss.

Also are satellite transmission S/N usually that low?
I am use to seeing a S/N of 15 db minimum for digital OTA, I guess satellite could be lower since there is less interference than terrestrial broadcasts.

Odd that you have all three at 85 dead on. Possibly the issue might be with the neighboring satellites and 1.2 is showing its colors on the beamwidth.

I never thought about the beamwidth, that could be a possibility.

I checked again, slightly better readings and none are the same :):

12177 V 22997 - 91%
11836 V 20770 - 89%
11966 H 22000 - 90%

New freq

I have a GeoSat Pro receiver is there a way that I can adjust the freq, from what is preprogramed in the receiver, to be able to receive the VBS radio Station? Thanks!
