using satellite broadband at a rv park for hotspot

hi all
i wish to make a wifi hotspot at an rv park with paid log in. i have all the parts for the puzzle ie internet from dish wireless router and possible software for dhotspot will it all work and if i wanted to increase the footprint (range) what the best way around it

has anybody made this system or some thing like it work

I don't see how it can be made profitable - much less break even - given the FAP (throughput) restrictions imposed by all consumer grade satellite internet providers. HughesNet for example; even their most generous plans only offer 500MB/day. Multiple users are going to suck that up inna heartbeat.

Look at their business plans though. More up front, but probably more in tune with your needs and desires.

Commercial bandwidth would be required. Is your project in the US? I see your location as England...

Depends on how many people get on it and if you can limit the amount of bandwidth they get.

I have installed a couple of commercial systems in rv parks. What the owners did was put up an outdoor bridge/accesspoint D-Link Wireless AG Outdoor AP/Bridge to extend range. To offset the cost one owner i know added 2 dollars to each rental spot per night even if they used the service or not and advertised it as "free internet". If you have 20 spots and run only half captivity throughout the month (10x30)x2 that's 600 bucks per month revenue.
