Using a receiver in another location

I preorderd a UFC PPV Fight and we have decided to watch it at my buddies house, he has Dish, can I just take my receiver over to his house to watch it? I didn't think this would be a problem, just making sure.

Is there anything that identifies a receiver to my location?

I did that with Wrestlemania.....ordered it and took the receiver to my dad's and watched it on the big screen

You probably will need to do a check switch, he may not have same equipment.
