Used Directv receiver

I got a used Directv receiver and a International Dish for G3 95 w/ 101w for free .

Will Directv turn the used receiver on as a new account or i have to get a new receiver.

New account NEW receiver but you can add the old receiver once the account is established.

Where is the best place to get a new receiver? can i get one from Radioshack or BestBuy.

Just call up DirectTV and they will get you setup with new equipment.

Radio Shack is DISH Notwerk, Best Buy is a big D* seller.

I am trying to avoid the 18 month commitment with Directv by buying the equipment my self and do the install.

I only need one receiver so i can subscribe to one channel that is now on Directv International pack on Galaxy 3 ku.

Call D* they have a purchse program that will eliminate the 12 mo. commitment. I don't think you can subscribe to just 1 international channel wether you lease or own, they can also tell you that.
