Used 1.2 m dish. Worth it?

Extra $5. I would primer and paint the clamp, as the galvanized metal has developed surface rust over the past 5 years.

Maybe they will allow you to arrange your own freight shipping on the combined dish/clamp? The quoted cost seems far too high.

Exactly what Titanium said. I love my GSP 1.2.

Also, if one were going for reliable C-Band reception for a commercial use or some such, yes it would be a fools mission to try 1.2 on C-Band.
...but this is a hobby and the fun part is to see what you can get, especially if you are limited as to the size of the dish you can install!

That's exactly right. I'm not allowed to have a large BUD on my property at the present time, so I'm limited in what I can do. Plus I enjoy the fun of experimentation. I'm not trying to build a commercial earth center

I sent another email to SatelliteAV and told him what I'm wanting to do. I said I have $300 bucks. I told him I don't need the free Ku LNB but I do need the 65mm clamp. I asked if he could do the whole thing shipped for $300 and he agreed. He said he's going to throw in the free Ku LNB anyway, because he loves great enthusiasts.

So as soon as I get him paid later today, I'm going to order the conical scaler/LNB combo from KE4EST

Let the C-band experimentation begin!

Curious, where in CO are you headed? If you'll be on the western slope (Grand Junction area) I have a slimline with pole and some camera lenses free to good home. I can also recommend some good places to stop for local beer, local wine, and chocolate (Russell Stovers factory outlet!)

Fruita's barely a drive at all, but I don't have the balcony space for more dishes. Hank123 has my two old fiberglass dishes. I'm pretty happy with the GeosatPro dish I have until after I move. Eventually the wife and I will have our own place with room for 5 or so dishes (C and Ku). At this point she doesn't care, and I don't bother her about the huge pile of crochet stuff she has.

That's how I got away with all my dishes and such over the years. Let the wife have her hobby stuff, and once in a while buy her a new something "just for her hobby". LOL
