Use port 1 or port 2 with peaking meter for dish 1004

Instructions says to use port 2, sat 72.7 with peaking meter that produces at least 600ma power. If not connect port 1 of lbnf to sat in port of a powered receiver. I am using a meter powered from the receiver, so do I use port 1 or port 2. Another question..What do i align the elev. to on dish 1k? Is it the top of the side elevation bolt like in dish 500, or is it the top of the azmith plate? There is a difference of about 4 degrees.

I don't think it matters.

Elevation is the top, above the bolt. In the photo below, the elevation is set to about 38 degrees:
