You can strip the cable just fine with a razor blade.
Then grab a twist on end for 80 cents or whatever and you're all set.
Compression fittings are stronger and much quicker/easier to make, but you should be fine with the twist connector.
I used them for years until I decided it wasn't worth the time I spent trying to put them on.
