Uplink Report for Wednesday August 23rd

Are you sure about this? So theoretically I could "move" to Atlanta or New York to get DishHD locals and still get the guide info for the "real" ones from Mobile? I figured what OTA locals appeared in the guide depended on the DMA you were subscribed in.

I sub to Houston locals. I get Beaumont ,Texas ota digital stations on my 622 dvrs. I am getting my guide information for my Beaumont stations right now on the three digital stations I have on my 622. I am getting Houston stations as well that I pay Dish for. IF you pay for locals from Dish and you get some ota stations from an antenna and Dish has that market up on the satellite you will get the guide information for that area as well. Dish uses limited psip data to scan your digital stations and lock on to them and the guide information is linked to it from the Dish satellite.

sounds like it's time to research which HD markets are non-spotbeam or otherwise available from my physical location. :)

Ahh, i missed those additions.. Glad to see those markets on 110 and 119 didnt eat more conus real estate at 61.5/129! Still a wide variety of cities to choose from though, when you want to "move" :)

Negative... there are HD spotbeams.

Check this chart:

Yes, I get the Washington/Harrisburg locals which includes Washington HD locals. I can also pick up the Baltimore locals OTA along with Harrisburg ones. I get guide data through Dish Network for the Baltimore locals even though they don't supply them to me, as well as the Harrisburg local which Dish does supply to me.

I get guide data for Minneapolis locals even though I don't subscribe. I "moved" to get Duluth locals

Guide for Mpls HD channels I get OTA are in there + Duluth SD channels

I'm sure BFG will appreciate this info to update his chart.... thanks

Well that's an added bonus for all the "movers" out there. I guess the trick is to find a market that:
- is in same timezone, otherwise your guide times will be "wrong"
- has HD locals either on a spot near enough that you can get, or CONUS
- same for SD locals if you care about those
I guess "moving" is an option for those who are about to lose their distants?

Are you saying the kxly etc locals have moved to s44 and are split between tp27 and tp29? just curious cause I've looked at other charts that don't show this and also list a bunch of SD locals on those spots and tps, unless they did some changes...

Moved ? I'm almost sure KXLY been always on 20s40, let me search my tables ...

OK, my earliest report show KXLY on 2260 ( LiL B2h ) 7/2/06; that is 20s40.

Rates for 119W, 148W and 110W(conus). I don't know which one channel is active at tp13@110W, all equal four channels have same video/audio stream.

I got it now. didn't quite understand the correction you were pointing out then I liked at my chart again and realized what I had wrong.

Thanks for the info and bits as well

$300 million = $360 per sub (800,000 subs) = Distant Networks SHUTOFF GUARANTEED. No way on Earth or any other planet is Charlie going to pay that kind of money to keep them on. Not worth it. Nobody would. He could probably add the rest of the local cities for that kind of money. That is, if the $300 millon figure is true. Seems unrealistic to me. Reminds me of Sinclair trying to make Insight pay around that much per sub to keep their channels on the bought out Charter cable system.

Last 20 min report for 61.5W. Also tp29 is 8PSK, but not in system tables and have only null packets.
