Wow, Ch. 151 OLN is GONE from the EPG? That's not good... Usually when it's removed from the EPG, it's gone for a good while. :(

That was my first thought, they're really playing hardball When the Viacomm stuff happpened I believe they just hid the channels didn't stop uplinking them... don't remember for sure though.

I like the new setup...but one suggestion

Could you add "change transponders" for things like above ESPNA...it didnt really leave, just moved :)

Yea I know scott thats what i was thinking but its on a qpsk tp.. Iceberg I will give it a shot next week... Im slowly chaging it for the better good of satguys :) Dish might be testing this an 8psk qpsk mixed tp??? is that possable to have one tp having two diffrent encoding methods??? if so that could be news... with the mixture of hd in the 8psk format... and normal chnls in qpsk..

I'm pretty possiive the answer is no. The transmission is applied to the whole transponders

encoding techniques-no
scrambling techniques-yes (on IA5 for FTA there are 4 or more different scrambling techniques on one TP)

No, it can't be done. PSK = Phase Shift Keying. Q = Quad, or 4. Thus there are four different phases that make up a qpsk modulated signal. Each phase can carry 2 bits of data. 00, 01, 10, 11.

8psk means there are 8 different phases that make up the signal. Each phase carries 3 bits of data. 000, 001, etc. Thus, for the same amount of bandwidth (Hz) you are transmiting 33% more data. Your baud rate stays the same (you might hear symbol rate), however the data rate is increased.. data rate = symbol/s * number of bits per symbol.

The modulation applies to the entire channel, so no, you cant mix the two.

On edit, I'm not sure if I defined what "phase" is. When you have an analog signal, ie f(t) = A sin (tf + p) , where A is the amplitude, t is time, f is the carrier frequency, and p is the phase.
