Do we know why DISH is putting new HD LIL within the 129 footprint on 118.7 and not on 129? I mean the Dish 500+ is so much more expensive than D1000. It'd make more sense to put HD LIL in the Northeast US (outside of the 129 footprint) on the D500+ than on the wings.

Yeah, other than a few regional sports games on WXSP exclusively there isn't much we're missing. I watch the X now and then though and wish it was on dish and I am sure there are some that wish WZPX was on there too.

Nope, I tried for it, but no line of site, too low on my property, and 129 is totally blocked as well. Luckily I can get 61.5, and have a good opening for 81 through 121.

It's simple.....

Why should they put new HD LIL's on a bird that they already have a large subscriber base "looking" at? Leave the 129 bandwidth open for national HD that everyone can enjoy. Stick the new LIL on the new bird and only have to install a few in select areas.

Should they put the LIL on 129 and then put the next national HD on 118? Which will make them have to install new dishes everywhere?

Not HMP45, HMP46 - they are in MPEG-2; I would say future national HD channels 'ViP' class ( speculating: Food and MTV HD ? )

I think an uplink report a few weeks ago answered this. Two of the Atlanta HD locals were testing in MPEG4, and the other two were testing in MPEG2.

I don't think this is any new HD yet. Please - I hope I'm wrong.......

Yes it is old news... I checked a couple of days ago and they still are alanta hd lil testing im mpg 4 and 2.. Looking at them now, it doesnt look like things have changed at all other than the mpg4 channels have now turned into mpg 2 for those two test tps.

It seems there is lots of bandwidth sitting idle on 129. I'm not up to par on the 61.5 bird but how much bandwidth is left on this bird? Isn't the demo channel all by itself? I'm sure they could easily slide in two HD channels on 61.5 and 129.
