1) "On Demand" on satellite requires a DVR

2) The DVR needs to have been designed with extra space hidden from the user to store the on demand programming.

3) The DVR probably needs a software update to enable the on demand interface.

It's impossible to make on demand work on satellite without a dvr. You'd need a million transponders.

Just curious, but is this the same On Demand that cable has, meaning are there any chances of Dish getting Howard TV/Howard Stern on Demand?

It is not the same as On Demand from cable. It is a collection of PPV movies and such available "on demand".
