Do they have any TPs that are empty on 110?

Transponder 18 only has DIY, CNBC World, and CSTV left on it...

Transponder 19 only has ESPN-U on it, but this had previously been empty for a LONG time. Who knows why??

Looks like they are making room at 110 for something...

I have no idea what that something is, however 2 letter pop to mind if I had to guess...

HD.
JohnH at DBSTalk suggested the same, lol - who knows .. maybe making some room for HD..

Time will show i guess..

I wanted to see how many video and audio channels are on each transponder for 119 and 110 now after all this shuffling around. My starting poing was what Lyngsat has listed for each transponder. If someone finds any errors feel free to post the correction. The audio channels were a pain in the a$$ and I didn't break down the Sirius and CD (Mono) channels, just counted each as Audio.

The changes were made according to JohnH's post today.

Edited the After PDF file to reflect the latest addition (Espn Deportes to TP18 110)

ok let's see em :)

I was looking for the same thing but ignored lyngsat because it is outdated missing channels and has errors.

I think if we were to look for holes in TP Say that the ideal for each TP is 12 SD channels. I think 3 Audio channels = 1 SD channel. and 1 HD channel = 4 SD channels

It will be interesting to see what they do with all the space they created indeed...

and edit: actually their audio channels probably have 3 different bandwidth settings, so it's not possible to say 3 audio = 1 SD.

That's probably for the Sirius

The mono are the lowest bandwidth, then dish cd, then sirius

I have a strong feeling the deal with ESPN did not include just ESPN-U because ESPN- Deportes is now uplinked, and I think that means we should see another ESPN channel very soon :D

Since they have sirius can't they dump all the mono and cd channels, seriously? (or is that sirirusly...). Might not save a lot of space but it's just too much, who's going to pick a mono channel over a professionally programmed sirius channel...

Let me ask since I wasn't around when HD rolled out. How long as HD content on the satellite's before working receivers were available to buy/lease? What i'm getting at is if MPEG-4 is on the satellite's today, how long of a wait before the boxes are ready to roll out? A few weeks, a month or two?

Dish probably still has to honor a contract with Muzak, that's why they cant drop those audio channels

Hmmmmm, Here is one to think about. Rumor what ever you call it. But

Could it be all the channel moves, especialy the ones last night are related to DIsh turning off all Nagravision One last night (I mean all of it).

They can now move channels as they have a little more bandwidth, they have the new compression with N2 they can turn on the extra encyrption now.

In other words this is all part of the big plan, they have more bandwidth now, they are moving channels in line for 2-4 more new HD Channels.

The dates all seems to line up. Shut down some Nagravision channel then move them.

I know we cant talk about some things, but Nagravision is gone, those bad people caused some extra bandwidth to get to N2, now were are there so N1 is all turned off, thus more HD for all. Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!

Espn D ALLLLL Confirmed.. Hey thanks BFG for doing everything while I was gone.. Its been an exciting day as I pitched my new company Wireless Assurance and got some investers.. That and I installed my new ant. and dish 1000 :)

Yeah bobj2004 I think you have some very good Ideas there. It makes sense to me, since they are all on 1 encrytion again they don't have to worry about keeping certain channels on certain transponders
