Are you still taking 'samples' instead of monitoring when new version of NIT/SDT pops up ?
I take samples. He checks regularly for changes.
Even if the NIT/SDT versions change, there may be no relevent changes to report.
That's true and same time only new version of NIT/SDT will carry changes, so the moment of changing the version should trigger a process of comparison and producing a report in case if anything interesting to report.I take samples. He checks regularly for changes.
Making samples doesn't cover all cases if it not happen each five minutes, what is sort of overkill for the process ( interesting why an interrupt lines invented for computers and other smart machines ?
).One does have to take a small sample to find out the version(s) have changed.
My system is sitting here taking a sample every 5 minutes around the clock. It has nothing else to do unless I am watching tv, which usually occurs at a time when activity is not likely to happen.
