2 CHANGE(S) 5053 CHANNELS IN THE SYSTEM

Note: This is not a normal activity week. Much more is happening than normal. An attempt is being made to keep you up to date on what is happening, no matter how insignificant it may be. Only the morning sports moves are not being posted as they are somewhat normal(HD RSN moves at 61.5 have become somewhat normal this week as they have been at 129 for a long time).

Does this "note" mean that something big could be in store for Dish subs?
Activity usually ramps up when a new satellite is about to launch. This could be some of the reason(s).
E*11 launching to 110, E*2 possible move to 77. E*6 possible move to 72.7.

Some of these small updates seem somewhat clerical.

Nothing big is ever in store for Dish subs !

Got it ?

This is a Satellite Hobbyist Forum, we are not Dish Network.

huh !! This is the best and biggest satellite TV rumour site in the world!! Scotty should have a few morsels soon enough

About how long will it take to move E 2 and E 6 once they actually start moving them? Are we talking days, weeks or months to get them to 77 and 72?

There were no post "Before" DISH added 16 to 17 HD channels in one day.
There were no post "Before" DISH dropped VOOM.

What more do you people need to realize their is no inside info to be had here.
That said, the uplink reports can tell you things "Before" most people know them.

Wrong.

Scott posted on Sunday night before they added those hd channels. They were added on the following Monday afternoon.

Any uplink report post are not "inside info", btw.
But please provide a link as this whole site was in shock when it happened including Scott.

On Sunday night, Scott posted a Dish Network Official Press Release that was sent to all press sources.
'
The only diffference is that places like Yahoo did not bother to even read the release until Monday morning.

It would be a federal crime to send a press release to a private individual prior to general release (SEC regulations).

Where is the link?

This site is great for uplink reports and a place where others that might actually go to DISH's website and read their press releases. But that really just proves my point that there are NO morsels here that aren't on the uplink report or on DISH's website.

Where is the press release discussing the Eastern Arc plan that Dish is putting into place? Oh wait they have not announced it yet, and only recently filed with the FCC the plans to move the satellites, yet we have known about it for a long time.

Where are the press releases on all the new receivers that have been discussed here? Oh, wait there are none. Yes as a retailer you would have been able to see them at Team Summit but that is not a general announcement, and the normal press is excluded from the event.

Yes a lot of the discussions here comes from a variety of sources, Scott does break stuff early sometimes in the pub, it happens, not often, because in the big scheme of things, nothing much really happens. Rumors are discussed. But, really what sort of information can there be to be announce, Dish adds channels on occasion, occasionally launches a satellite, and occasionally makes new equipment. There is just not that much to have an exclusive scoop on.

As far as actually channels coming to Dish, no there is very little advance notice since Dish tends to turn them on as soon as they get a contract, no use making a deal and not acting on it.

Yes it is fun to sit around and speculate and report the rumors of what is going to happen. If you are going to lock in a contract for 2 years by signing up for service, it is good to know what is being planned by both DBS companies to help make an informed decision. But, in reality it is just a pay TV service and there just is not a lot of action in the long run.

That was my only point.
Some seem to think that there are some here that have the DISH HD channel rollout schedule and will only post it if ASKED REPEATEDLY.

It is kind of funny how I had speculated about the possibility of moving the E-2 satellite to an Eastern Arc slot and folks here supposedly in the know said it wouldn't happen because it would take too much fuel. Now Dish has applied to the FCC to do just that. Admittedly my speculation had E-2 going to 61.5 W to help E-3 but that may eventually happen after DirecTV vacates the 72.5 W slot. Ironically Dish would then be using a DirecTV built satellite.

It is really surprising that they will move E2 over. Dish has to be getting desparate for satellites now. Hopefully we will see some getting finished soon and ready for launch (and get launch vehicles booked).

I am also surprised that Dish is moving E2. While 148w is mainly used for testing the E2 move will leave half of the TPs at 148 dark. Also E2 while in good health is kinda running on borrowed time. Check out the Specs on E2. And keep in mind that E2 was launched in 9/10/1996.
