Uplink Activity 5/09/08 6:45 PM EDT 87 changes

Wow, I have a busy day at work where I can't even check this forum and Dish uplinks a bunch of HD... If this happens I'll be very impressed.

Okay, so the list supposedly is rumored to be:

TravelChannel-HD
CNBC-HD
MGM-HD
Mojo-HD
Smithsonian-HD
WorldFishingNetwork-HD
Biography-HD
HMC-HD (Hallmark Movie Channel ??)
Showtime2-HD
TheWeatherChannel-HD

and previously rumored:

ESPNEWS-HD
ToonDisney-HD
DisneyEast-HD
ABCFamily-HD
Bravo-HD
CartoonNetwork-HD

which leaves 6 unidentified ones

Several of those were not listed on the Charlie Chat that showed the logos. Not sure which one though.
Halmark
MGM
Smithsonian
WFN
Mojo
Travel Channel hd

I think these were the ones that were not listed.

Well, next week will be very interesting. Tech chat on Monday. Uplink on Wed.
Something else is happening next weekend.:)

The content can flip flop in a heart beat so it's not a big deal just yet.

How does Dish get the rights to carry a video for testing??

Do they have to get any kind of permission from the networks to test their channel??

You would think so...but looking at the past thats not always the case. ;)

If these go active I'm think my HD Only Package purchase will come sooner than I think. The only thing is I do not feel like fighting with the local Dish Retailer yo-yo. Only LOS to 110/119/129 is where my KU dish is at on a pole. They aren't going to use my extra coax in the ground nor are they going to dig in my yard. I don't want 129 anyways. Decisions decisions.... Have a perfect spot for LOS from 50w-95w or so though.

I'd sign up with a retailer in a heartbeat if they'd ship me a 722, Dish 1000.2 w/ a wing dish and let me install. And no, I'm not paying for the equipment up front. If I had to pay up front I'd might as well go with a self installed cable DVR.
