Right now i have 2 Hoppers and 4 joeys

They said i could go to the hooper 3 and 5 joey 2.0s if i sign a new contract and with a $95 tech Visit.

Does the new system use the same satellite dish as the regular hopper?

Only reason i ask is because right now when i go to my campground i take one of my hoppers and one of my joeys with me so i can have tv and my kids can have tv in the bunkhouse. Im unable to get signal on my campsite, but my neighbor can, they have the satellite set up and i just run lines from theirs to my site/

Because of the difference in the technology with a Hopper 3, it would not work with an old dish. That's why there is a Tech visit to install new LNB upgrade.

It's the exact same 1000.2 dish with just the hybrid lnb screwed in instead. C'mon it's two Phillips out and swap.

yeah my lot has too much tree coverage i was unable to get good signal. My neighbor sits up a bit higher and has 2 free lines on his dish so i have those ran down to my lot

Now if your neighbor has an H3 system, all is well! :) And, if he has an H3 system, recently installed, your old Hopper system won't work either... ;)

I'm just saying it's the same dish. You just pop the lnb off and swap. It's not like a install needs a whole new mast and everything plumbed up as dish is making it sound.

You can say that all you want, but it isn't his dish and that is why he has issues.... He can easily do what you are suggesting at his home. He can't do that at his secondary location like he can today with his current Hopper system.

It should point the same way, unless your hd locals are on a different sat that you have now. The only thing is that this hybrid lnb will allow your hopper 3 to do 16 tuners at one time. That and you will have a solo hub instead of solo node that came with the hopper with sling and regular hopper 1.

If he needs to share a dish at the campground, he could not connect a hopper 3 receiver with a receiver that is not a hopper. The lnb that the hopper 3 uses can not support a hopper 3 and an older receiver at the same time.

Close but not quite. The LNB that the H3 uses cannot support ANY other receiver if a H3 is connected.

Your not grasping my point. I dont care about locations or even talking about it. Im talking in general. For dish to say its a whole new dish and needs a tech visit is really stretching the truth is what im getting at....Its still just a 1000.2 dish with a hybrid lnb instead...

Frankly I don't care about your point because it has nothing to do with the OP's dilemma. Did you even read what he had to say to begin with? I bolded the germane part about why he can't really go to an H3 configuration and continue doing what he does now. It will work at his primary home but not at the campground.... If it doesn't work in both places it isn't going to fit his bill....
