Do like every other cheap person does. Buy the service plan, use it and drop it a few months later. I like how people are so butt hurt about the service plan. I'm a Dish Tech and I pay the $6 a month for the service plan.
This guy is coming onto a forum and asking if he can use the same cables that his current dish uses for the next dish. Why would I give him any advice at all on how to assemble, install and integrate a k4 system? Whats next? "I heard this k4 dish uses super powers and can shoot through trees"....People never cease to amaze me.
I would love it if he doesn't unplug his receiver when doing this dish swap, it arcs and he smokes his hard drive. Then he will call dish, say his receiver is messing up and probably end up paying the $95 service fee to get that new receiver. Equipment replacement is covered under the service plan.
I am not trying to be rude, just simply saying that some things should be left to professionals.
