Upgrade from vip622 to 722 - Will Ext Drive Content Survive?

I just ordered a vip722 (non-K version) as an upgrade from our vip622. We have about 500gb of content on an external drive and I'm wondering if it will survive the switch to a different model DVR. I recently swapped out my old 622 to a new one after it died, and the external hd media came across just fine.

It should without any problem. I moved from a 622 to a 722k. I had moved everything I wanted to save to the EHD and when my 722k was activated with EHD support I plugged it in and everything was just as it is supposed to be.
