update program guide without check switch

Is there anyway to update the program guide without running check switch. I turn my unit off (standby) each night, but last night there wasn't much on the program guide. Haven't checked it today to see if it updated.

front panel reset, or hard reset. only thing that comes to mind at this time.

make sure you have curr software.guide is updated at night w/ rcvr in standby

Actually is updated after nightly reboot and every check switch. Running check switch is a good way to fix a partial guide. Partial guides can occur if you lost signal at the reboot, e.g. heavy storm at your scheduled download time.
