Nationwide Satellite TV Broadcasting for $20 Per Show

SAN DIEGO, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- UonTV LLC today announced a revolutionary new satellite TV service enabling anyone to digitally broadcast TV programs to a nationwide audience for as little as $20. Businesses, churches, organizations, sports leagues and consumers will now have the same power to broadcast as the biggest cable, satellite and network media companies. UonTV technology makes nationwide TV broadcasting as easy as transferring a file from your PC.

With an estimated 3 to 6 million viewers in the US, UonTV transmits digitally via the Intelsat Americas 5 satellite covering all of North America, Alaska, Hawaii and the Caribbean. The signal can be received with a sub-$200 Free-To-Air (FTA) satellite set-top receiver and 30" mini dish. Best of all, reception of UonTV as well as hundreds of other FTA TV and radio channels is free and does not require a subscription.

"FTA satellite TV is the way the world watches television especially in Europe, Asia and the Middle East including recently Iraq," said Jamison Ching, General Manager of UonTV. "There is no better way to efficiently transmit television content to massive audiences." With UonTV, independent producers can shoot video using DV camcorders, edit shows on a PC, and upload the completed file to UonTV's server for broadcasting.

Television has evolved from the big three networks (Broadcasters) followed by the era of cable channels (Narrowcasters). UonTV heralds the age of the "Microcaster", where even the tiniest niche programming will be able to reach mass markets. Shows about model trains, high school sports, garage bands, ethnic programming, and videoblogs now have a venue to reach millions of viewers. Unlike the Internet, FTA TV is full screen full motion digital television served up just the way consumers are used to seeing and also supports HDTV, DVR, PC-TV, and digital radio services.
