This morning my HR20 recorded Monsters vs. Aliens 3 times; at 1:00 AM, 2:25 AM, and 3:49 AM from channel 9981. I DID NOT request any of those recordings.

Software is 0x368. Anyone else experience anything like this?

Have you ever had your receiver change channels seemingly on it's own? (maybe a neighbor with Directv accidentally set your timers?)

No, never happened. Wouldn't someone need to know my D* username and password to do that? RF remote is disabled.

I have the SAME thing..... 3 Monsters vs Aliens recorded to the DVR. NONE of them are the whole movie and all of them were at the same times as yours. I am going to call after work as ask them what is going on.

Same thing here, all 0 minutes...(was watching Dish HD Locals) 1 recording at 11 pm , 1 at 12:25 am and the last at 1:49 am...

I also am having this problem, and actually came here to see if anyone else was having it too...

I have 2 new recordings of the ppv movie Monsters vs Aliens, at 12:00 AM and 2:49 AM.

Did not order them, and certainly hope not to get charged for them.

I just received a new software update the same evening.

This is a little OT but during the past week, I've had problems recording "Inside the NFL" on my HR22. I had it set up to record weekly on Wed on SHOEHD but the DVR scheduler "flaked out" and first added an unwanted repeat episode on Sundays and then this week, after I set it back up for series/weekly recording, it recorded Wed nights episode ok but did not auto-sch next week's episode. The "Record" Icon on the Guide looked ok, showing the normal "weekly/series" Icon, but it didn't re-sch next week's recording. I haven't tried a reset yet on the box but I guess that's the next step after I try one more time to set the weekly recording up next week.

Same thing happened to me too! I don't like those kinds of movies and just one other person in my home, so I know it wasn't my wife.

Must be something wrong with that software.

We got it as well. I wonder if they push it like an advertisement? Mine looked more like a VoD/DoD as opposed to a PPV. It didn't actually D/L anything or charge me.

Yup, there's a lot of this happening with the 368 update. It is suspected that it was a glitch and that it got recorded in the user's playlist instead of the Showcase (or whatever it's called now) area,

Yeah, DTV pushed it the wrong place. You were not charged for it, if you notice though its 3 recordings of 0 minutes, so nothing really is there

Maybe OT also, but I have had the same issue with Star Trek on HDN; it shows both the double red 'R' circle as well as a series recording but It misses about 1/3rd of the shows (though I've seen them all many times). I changed the prioritizer to #1, canceled the series & added it back & just about tried everything except formatting the machine. This all started during that dreaded time when DTV sent out all those forced software updates during the middle of the day (right during that particular program) & I suspect that has something to do with it. I would format the sucker but I have too many of my classic oldies on her so I just live & let live with this small problem.

I tried again to re-prog "Inside the NFL" as a weekly recorded series on SHOeHD. Now the symptoms are a little different. It auto-scheduled one future recording ok but it skipped next week's recording and the next recording date is in 2 weeks.

I dislike rebooting these HR22's but I guess I'll have to try that first to see if it fixes this problem.

As "jtwex" posted, I've had no problems since the HR22 install until last week so it appears to be software/glitch related.

I got it as well and will watch for any watch for any future billing.Agree with charper reply.

I have been a subscriber for over a year and the dvr will record shows with a matching keyword on channels I do not subscribe to and I will have a blank recording when the same show was on a channel I get at the same time (instead of recording on my local nbc or fox it will record off the national or off of sunday ticket which I don't subcribe to). I don't even have those channels in my guide.

Recently it has started matching keywords on PPV. I have searched and it seems other people don't have these problems. I am frustrated an will probably go back to dish but I did not have the dish dvr so I don't know if it is any better.

Same thing-three unwanted Monsters v Aliens. I have not tried to duplicate the other problems. I just erased the recordings. We also had some cutesy reminder about "TVMAIL" like it was some benefit to us, instead of an obnoxioous way for D* to push advertising on us.

Some of you know we have been trying Verizon FIOS on one of our televisions. I hate the Verizon boxes, menus and tiny hard drives, but the picture, sound and price are superior. We have about decided to switch everything to Verizon and get a couple of TiVos with cablecards to overcome some of the Verizon box shortcomings. I'll miss complaining about D* and their despicable trade practices.

I has the same issues of Monsters VS. Aliens recording or at least being on my DVR and Inside the NFL not recording as it should.
