Isn't Micro USB already the defecto standard? All three cell phones of mine charge via micro USB and just about everyone that I know, there's does as well. As for Apple, I'll believe it when I see it. No more proprietary chargers for them, yeah right.

Universal charger means the same voltage/current. I don't think that is the case now.
IIRC four iPhones use 3 different chargers...
