United Airlines Goes Beyond AM, Beyond FM
CHICAGO, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines today announced it has enhanced its onboard audio entertainment beginning this month with music programming provided for United by XM Satellite Radio(C). As part of United's continuous improvement of the customer experience, this enhancement offers customers up to 19 new and exciting channels for in-flight audio entertainment.*
"Giving our customers an enjoyable flight experience is important to us, and we will continue to look for opportunities to improve upon what we already offer," says Dennis Cary, senior vice president-Marketing, United Airlines. "We are pleased to provide our customers this enhanced audio programming developed by XM Satellite Radio, as it supports our goal to provide innovative services to our customers."
Now for a promotional period, customers traveling on United will be able to listen to as many as 19 music channels provided by XM for United, giving customers a taste of XM's exclusive, commercial-free music channels. With this sampling of XM's music content, United customers will get a greater in-flight variety of music genres, popular artists and specialty niche channels -- such as Top 20 on 20 for latest hits, Suite 62 for adult R&B, Highway 16 for country fans, the Blend for adult contemporary, Top Tracks for classic rock, XM Pops for classical music, Bluesville to hear jazz and blues and Soul Street for classic soul.
"XM Satellite Radio offers an extraordinary variety of music for all kinds of tastes, and we're very pleased that United Airlines' customers will have the opportunity to sample the exclusive, commercial-free music channels that have helped make XM the nation's leading satellite radio company," said Howard Jacobs, senior vice president-Strategic Partnership Marketing, XM Satellite Radio.
