Unique IR codes for 2 Tivos

I am about ready to purchase a HR10-250 HD Tivo and a SD Direct-TV Tivo. I want to install them in the equipment rack in my theater where they can feed the theater and the RF distribution network to the rest of the house. Will one remote control both Tivos, or can they be uniquely programmed to control just one unit? The desire is to have a unique remote just control just one tivo, without messing up the second unit.

You can uniquely program them. I don't remember exactly how to do it at the moment but it is in the owner's manual.

If you can find a peanut shaped remote with a DVR 1/2 switch you can program each. I'm not sure if the peanut will control all functions of the HDTiVo.

If you have the HNS Tivo, it is on pg. 115 of the owners manual, or in the Table of Contents, under "Programming the Remote Control"

Path on On-screen Menu: DIRECTV Central//Messages and Setup//Recorder and Phone Setup//Remote Control Programming//Set Remote Address

Follow the directions from there and you should be good. This is just going off of memory, so I'm not 100% sure if this is correct or not, but I hope this helps.
