I'm trying to understand the coverage charts located at "The List" link here at Satellite Guys. I'm confused as to how it relates to Hawaii (and I think the recent posters about coverage in Puerto Rico might also find an explanation helpful).
Anyway, in past dealings with DISH tech support, I've come to learn that we get sats 110, 119 and 129 here in Hawaii.
I'll use PAC 12 network coverage as an example for this discussion.
Looking at DISH charts:
PAC12 at channel 413 is on sat 119 in SD
Sat 119 has spot beam coverages to Hawaii on A27 and A28 (according to the chart)
PAC12 on SAT 119 is only listed as CONUS BEAM
Hawaii receives PAC12 on 413 in SD - I'm assuming from 119 because there is no feed listed on 110 or 129 in SD
Curious why there are some channels with spotbeam coverage to Hawaii but yet, it seems we get coverage from the CONUS BEAM
Compounding my confusion:
PAC12 at channel 413 is on sat 129 in HD
Sat 129 has spot beam coverage to Hawaii on 55 (according to the chart)
PAC12 HD is on sat 129 on CONUS BEAM but Hawaii does not receive the HD feed even though it shows up in our guide
I figure that if I better understand how the feeds cover Hawaii, the uplink reports would also be more meaningful.
Thanks for any explanations.
