UHF OTA on VIP 612 Doesn't work

In addition to post number 2 are there any others who can receive UHF Over-the-air? Anyone else who cannot?

My in-laws have a 612 that does fine for UHF. They've not had any trouble since install...

I don't understand the whole cable/air messing up the tuner???? The VIP series all have ATSC tuners only, no analog... the old 921/942's had analog & may have received cable???
