If, by chance, you have the Dish Protection plan (or whatever it's called now) I'd take a baseball bat to it just once when the tech is arriving. The rest will solve itself!
It is the other way around. The 1000+ reflector is bigger, and is used to upgrade a 1000.4 to a 1000.5Are you sure the 1000.4 is bigger than the 1000+?
Troch77 started a thread about it awhile back. When I have time, I will post a link to it.I never have heard of the 1000.5 dish. Can you send a link to it?
I have a 1000+ dish and hardly ever have rain fade. I think it is because it is bigger than the 1000.4 & 1000.2 dish.It is the other way around. The 1000+ reflector is bigger, and is used to upgrade a 1000.4 to a 1000.5

I already have both dishes, so I could try to assemble a 1000.5 with the parts I already have, but it would mean gutting the 1000+ that I use all of the time just to experiment with the 1000.4 that I rarely use. I figured that if I could get a 1000+ reflector at a reasonable price, and it doesn't work for the 1000.5, then I would still have a spare reflector for the 1000+ in case I ever need it.
The first thread in the search results was the one I was thinking about, but since there are multiple threads on the subject, I decided to simply post a link to the search results: http://www.satelliteguys.us/xen/threadloom/search?query=1000.5Troch77 started a thread about it awhile back.
