U521?

From what I have been reading here, it seems the latest Hopper 3 software is U521. Mine has been U517 since 6/1. I have tried on SEVERAL occasions to update the software, and it just won’t update.

Today was my most recent attempt. I chose the upgrade from the tools menu, I selected “Upgrade Now” and watched as it downloaded the bar across the screen. I saw it put the screen saver up, and even saw it momentarily go back to a tuner, then the Hopper rebooted. I left it alone and actually went out to run some errands, came back an hour later, the screen saver was on, I hit select and checked on it and was still on U517. Ideas anyone?

Roll outs are staggered so that they don’t get too many calls all at once.

Did you touch the remote at all during the process? Do a pull cord reboot and try again. If still won't download try again tomorrow.

So are you saying DISH even staggers if you do the upgrade tool too? I thought the staggering was just if you wait for it to happen automatically.

Make sure every receiver is in standby and you don’t have any recordings set for 3 hours.

Welcome. Same thing happened to me trying to go from U517 to U518. Come to find out DISH had pulled the update. I doubt that happened this time, U521 has been a pretty solid update. Navychop is probably right on the staggering thing.

Just be patient. Unless you have a dual hopper system, you're not missing anything

LOL, not me. I got my HWSs as soon as they first came out. I always was in the first group to get software updates for 4 1/2 years. It was 1 1/2 years before I got my Hopper 3s after they came out. I am never in the first group to get updates, but the next day I do the tool update and get the update. I think DISH pushes out the update to the Hoppers that went on line first. But, no telling.
