U307 available for hopper 3

Anyone with a 4K TV hooked up to their Hopper 3? If yes can you test if 4K is working on Netflix? (I am on a different software version so I can't check)

Yes - and you can still create a 6th folder (or more) which will be wiped out at next re-start. Still, going all the way to U307 I have to believe that a lot of "bugs" were fixed....
Was really hoping that would be fixed!!!

Note that 4K Netflix is NOT there. Confirmed with Netflix and fully tested by me in a complete, confirmed system that plays 4K almost every day, just not from Netflix on the H3. Netflix 4K does work on the FireTV.

So which is it lol.

He doesn't have the bandwidth necessary to actually know. He even says so. I think he just did a search for "4K" and got the grid of 4K videos. Since Netflix tests bandwidth if he actually selects the show it will show it only in HD, not 4K.

Alan, that list will show the availability of 4K videos, but on the H3 it will NOT play them in 4K. It has done that since day one. Nothing new about it at all.

I called and confirmed with Netflix that they HAVE NOT upgraded their H3 app to support 4K yet.

That's what I figured, you don't need an H3 to know that's what happens when you don't have proper bandwidth.
I've already tried to explain this several times in the past.
It will just downconvert to 1080 ,and people just think because it said 4K when they selected it, that it's actually going to be 4K.

But as far as the hopper, that's very strange that it wouldn't be in 4K if you have the proper bandwidth.

It is just the app not being up to the current standards. You would think it should have been dead simple to get that done, but apparently not. ;(

Fortunately for me I can use either the TV or FireTV Netflix app and get all of their 4K with no problem. Hell I've got overkill on bandwidth at 100/10!! :)

4K programs are showing up, but they're outputting to 1080P. And still no Dolby Digital. I have enough bandwidth for 4K as it works on the Netflix app on my TV.

Is there a reason people want Netflix 4k on Dish with max .6Mb/s ac3 audio (or is it just stereo) vs say Roku 4 running at 100 times that at 6Mb/s eac3 audio? (not to mention atmos)

yeah - after updating and by the time my TV lit up I was on "live" TV - that should make a lot of people happy! :clapping
For me, it takes 17 seconds from power up for the home page to go away so I still need the CANCEL command in the power up sequence. I also need a delay of 1.5 seconds between power up and cancel so this is delaying power up.

Multiview (aka Sports Bar mode) was originally announced to work only on 4K TVs. I thought that was strange since the receiver does other video scaling. I found that it works fine on my HD TV.

Laff TV to totally replace BlueHighways TV on 3/21

Sling Adapter not working with replacement 722k
