Two HWS and no joeys?

I'm thinking of going with just two hoppers with sling and no joeys. I had someone tell me they did this a while back but no offense to one of the DIRT guys but I got told earlier that you can't for some reason?

I don't see how it would force you into a joey for each HWS if you only want to do two rooms each with its own HWS.

Go to a local retailer, they have a bit more flexibility to get war you are asking for.

I thought they dropped that Joey requirement.

I got a 2HWS/2J installation, up from 2 ViP722s. I immediately returned the Joeys and bought one cheap so I can deactivate it at will. No problems.

Either local retailer or just order 2 HwS 2 J then send the Js back.

I had a Hopper and Joey just installed, discovered that it was not to my liking, called Dish, and next morning had two Hoppers and NO Joeys. No muss, no fuss.

I installed 2 Hopper 2000 in my RV July 2012, no Joey.
This was when they would not allow any Hopper install in an RV.
I had to go to the executive resolution/Retention department and it took about 5 CSRs at that level before I got one who figured it all out.

Set it up for a 4tv install. Activate everything. Get paid for all the units. Call in and deactivate Joeys because "customer changed his mind". Done.

A retailer will get charged back for those units sent back. If you don't want them then don't let the installer waste his time activating them.

I had no problem getting 2 Hoppers w/no joey's. I just called Dish and told them that's what I wanted.

Well I'd like to get just two HWS's and no Joeys to start with but I have a PM from one of the Dirt guys, and again its nothing against them as I know they are very helpful but I don't wish to have any joeys at all so I have no idea why they are telling me I can't do just HWS's. I'd rather deal with DIRT than the on phone CSR's but everyone here always says go with DIRT they are best but so far its not going that way.

As for installing them myself, yeah I'm an installer - my plan was to go with two HWS's taking out my original two 722's to go from 4 tuners to 6 tuners in only two rooms so to have a large amount of recording room and to be able to access the DVR from one or the other and so on. I was to set this WO up and do it on my own one evening to not only get paid to do the work but get the upgrade I wanted.

Just get 2H/2J install the Hs and don't activate the Js, send back the Js with the box Dish supplies.

I'm an inhouse guy and I've had several jobs where the customer did this exact thing. I just activate everything, then deactivate and take the joeys back with me.
