The thought even came to me to move to Chicago just so I can get this channel. :)

Me Tv also airs in Milwaukee. I don't know how they feed it. I have picked it up OTA DXing. I spoke with one of the engineers for WCIU about This tv a while back and asked him why Me and Me Too aren't on satellite, his response was they don't have the rights to sell to different markets. Weigel owns a few stations in other markets, one in Milwaukee and one in South Bend. Me is only on in Chicago & Milwaukee and Me Too is only on in Chicago.

also a lot of stations in Canada, while they use the "common name" is a basterdized version with lots of the same reruns and Canadian shows. Basically a channel that wants to come into Canada one of the big owners in Canada whines to the CRTC and gets thier own version of the channel

examples
HGTV
TLC aka the 8 kid chick channel....that show is on all the time
DIY
FOOD
Discovery
History
Nickelodeon
MTV
MTV2
G4

ESPN Classic Canada is better (IMO) than the US version
NHL Network is a wash...they have stuff on the US one that Canada doesnt see and vise versa

TLC, as aired on Canadian providers, is the US version, probably with some programming substiuted, similar to A&E and Spike. AFAIK, DIY is the US version.
The rest of the channels are names licensed from the US owners, except History, which is has no relation to the US channel, except they may license programming from them. G4 in Canada is still G4 TechTV, and quite a bit independant of G4. MTV is just the name licensed. MTV2 has been re-named quite a few years ago. Discovery is very much their own channel, although licenses much of the US content.

I remember seeing TCM Canada listed somewhere also. I wondered if it was the same. They have a Dejavu channel that listed RTV type programming on one of the provider websites.

Dejaview is kinda like the older Tv Land.....just a different owner

Deja View has kinda the same programming as the rebranded Comedy Gold.

Do you think Comedy Gold will be ever available on Shaw ?
I understand the old TV Canada was available in the then called Starchoice...

Starchoice and Shaw Direct are one in the same...Shaw use to call it Starchoice to not confuse it as Shaw cable (which is the dominant cable in western Canada)....also to conofuse people to "think" that they were not the same company and folks who hated Shaw would switch to SC

I hope they add it but not banking on it

the good old days of TV Land,
Do you remember that when TV Land was born it was available on USSB ? Back then you would have most of your channels on DirecTV and then the Nicks, MTV. HBOs. Showtimes and TV Land on USSB. I remember I would receive 2 separate bills for my whole programming....

Yep
USSB had the movie channels and Viacom channels

USSB was owned by Hubbard Broadcasting here in Minnesota. They still own some TV & Radio stations

You guys have me missing the old Nick at Nite. I used to love watching Car 54, Mr. Ed, Patty Duke, Dick Van Dyke, Laugh In, Fernwood Tonight, Dobie Gillis (Tueday Weld was nice!) among others.

Walking down memory lane... how about I love Lucy !!!

Maybe I still don´t understand why TV Land would let a classic like I Love Lucy move to Hallmark and then air even brand new shows like that Hot in Cleveland.

TV Land comes from Viacom. They are only interested in the bottom line $$$. They have screwed up just about every one of the channels they have launched. Started with the demise of MTV.

They are under some impression that everyone wants to watch that mindless reality crap. I for one don't.

I agree 100%. However, they are successful because lots of people do watch this mindless reality crap. If people would stop watching, ratings would be low resulting in advertising being pulled. This would then change the programming they showed.

Maybe I'm getting too old, but I remember when MTV actually showed music all the time and TV Land was home of the classics.

I still see however that MTV versions from other countries still show only music. Down here there are about 3 MTV channels and they still show music videos. I was living in Europe and I also had the chance to see that MTVs from those countries showed music videos most of the day.

I agree with you, and yet TV Land´s concept is supposed to be the home of the classics. but apparently they are now moving away from such concept...

Well Antenna TV will be here January 3rd and best of all it will be free. TV Land can go away as far as I am concerned.
