Wow, some major damage.. the whole top floor is on fire on the east side. looks like right accrost from my room that I was staying at in the NY NY.

I wish there was a shot of it from the strip side; but it looks like the fire is entirely on the west side of the building.

Apparently it started in some of the penthouses. Some high roller must have had a bad day. No injuries being reported.

Ya, incredibly poor reporting by Fox.

Like Gary Wadell said, probably not as bad as it looks, mostly facade burning, very possible no rooms even engulfed in flames.

It may have had to do with some welders who were on the roof..

Monte Carlo guests were evacuated to the garden area of the MGM Grand.

Goaliebob and Scott, good to see you guys again after meeting you at the CES... Bob, I can beat that one (staying in the NY NY)... I stayed on the 28th floor of the Monte Carlo during the CES in the exact wing where the fire burned to the lower sections from the top. Good thing I was not there this week! Oh well that casino was a hole anyways... it needs to go. apparently they agree with me in their effort to collect the insurance cheque! ;0

I had both Fox and CNN on, and both had horrible coverage.

I was waiting for one of the callers to go "baba booey" to the reporters on both channels.

Both channels were saying the surrounding hotels were evacuated when it was not the case.
