OK, so I bought a brand new 722 assuming we could watch the OTA tuner in real time from either TV1 or TV2. Not true! You can only control the TV2 satellite tuner, or play back recordings, from the TV2 remote. OTA channels aren't even displayed on the TV2 EPG.
But what if they were? Suppose Dish rewrote the firmware to display the same guide on both TVs, and when you Select an OTA channel, it automatically offers to start a recording? Then, at a later date, you could watch the recorded OTA program on TV2.
Or better yet, if you select a currently-being-broadcast program, why not start the recording AND PLAYBACK of the OTA program with one OK? This effectively enables a single OTA tuner to be shared by both TV1 and TV2, with a simple software change. I call this the "Tuner Warp", an idea so mind-bending that I am sure the PTO will grant my idea patent protection. (Just kidding. Charlie you can use my tuner warp idea free of charge.)
