Tulsa and OKC locals from Griffin Communications on clock with Dish now

I'm gonna go on chat with Dish. I could deal with the dish channel gone, but erasing OTA guide data just before the timer fires is ridiculous. If they wanna pi$$ me off, someone is gonna get it...

UPDATE On DISH satellite:
As of 4pm, DISH and the agreement with TulsaCW/KOTV - The News On 6, has not come to an agreement. This means by 6pm, DISH could drop our stations. GCOM has set up a 24-hour phone line to handle any DISH calls/complaints. 1-866-901-7557

Not a facebook user, but checked KOTV and was surprised to see Chera Kimiko posting about it, albeit from Griffins one sided point of view that it is all Dish's fault

The Dish CSR I chatted with said it's all Griffin's fault. She said that they rejected every offer, even offered them to pay what DirecTV and the cable companies offered. I said that this is none of my concern that they get paid millions to be unable to negotiate like adults. I said fact is that I do not receive the programming I paid for, and that I especially take it personal that the OTA programming guide gets erased just prior to activating my timers.

yep another one of Dish's BS policies, trashing the guide on the main OTA channel even though the guide on the few OTA subchannels they do support is still fine and dandy.

Exactly. This is EXACTLY what makes me mad. There was no need to do that, expect bullying people with this action. I told the CSR that Mr. Ergen has three days, or he is gonna loose another contract..

David Griffin can be a stubborn idiotic hard ass, I don't think they want to go into the AFC championship missing eyeballs on Dish, even though he is pretending like he will.

Is this a metered market? If not, they won't see a drop in ratings for ANY program because of a Dish blackout (at least until Feb, which means results won't be in until Mid April). Also, how many subscribers does Dish have in the market? I know their conflict was with Direct, but with Cordillera's blackout, there were 500,000 customers affected over 10 stations/markets. That's not really a lot for any one market.

I also agree with ralfyguy regarding Dish pulling guide data. They do that to piss off the consumer more. Remember their is guide data IN THE RECEIVER, Dish elects not to use it. No, it may not be 9 days, or heck, even 3, but even if it's only 12 hours, it would still allow timers to fire.

Live just east of Mcalester, in the boonies, what are our options? Don't want cable here because they have no DVR and don't want to switch to another two year contract. Does anyone have any info on OTA for this area?

I live in McAlester as well. You can get channels 3, 6, 8, 11, 19, 23 ,41 from Tulsa with a real good antenna and amps. Channel 2 is mostly gone, as their power output is pathetic. Remember, down here you are 75 miles from the towers. Up to 65 miles is line of sight. Everything beyond is luck. Channel 3 is from bear Eufaula and channel 6, 8 and 19 have repeaters 5 miles north of town. You can also aim east and get 40 from Fort Smith. Or aim SW and get 10 from near Ada.

It's Tulsa and OKC combined. Griffin owns both CBS affiliates KOTV and KWTV. Roughly 3 million viewers so roughly 1.5 million households between the 2 DMA's, with about half of those rural outside the 2 metro areas, so no cable only having satellite. A guesstimate would be roughly 300,000 Dish customers, 600,000 viewers covering 3/4 of the State. Last I heard OKC is metered.

It's sad they block the psip, as Griffin does send out 3 1/2 days of guide info. The 2 engineers, Gerald Weaver and John Schilberg are very good about answering questions and getting things fixed if there is a problem.
