Hello,
I just had Dish installed about 2 weeks ago. I live in an older house that is not pre wired for cable. I had been using a cable company for cable/internet but wanted to get Dish and keep my internet through the previous company. So, when i had dish installed I had one wire to the living room and 1 wire to a bedroom already done by the cable company. So, i had the Dish guy install my hopper in the bedroom and the wireless joey installed in the living room. I did this because the coax in the living room was already being used by the modem/router. Well today i got the bright idea of switching the hopper and joey and moving my router to the bedroom. Very easy i thought. Got everything hooked up and the internet came right back online. But what do you know, TOTAL SIGNAL LOSS from dish.
Now when i did this i went outside and just swapped the feeds. Switched the feed coming from the cable company to the bedroom and switched the satellite to the living room. Should work just fine in my mind but obviously it has not. Need some help here guys. Of course dish wants close to 100 bucks to send a tech out.
I do not have a node (that i can tell) it is simply one one coax running from the dish on the roof, down the side of the house and into the cable box that was already there. Thanks for your time.
