trying 61.5 locking 72

Hi,

I'm pointing to 61.5 ( dish 500 ) - the signal meter shows higher strength for 61.5 than 72.

But when I do 'point dish' with 61.5 selected, it shows about 45-52 signal strength and says wrong satellite ( says I have to choose 72 ).

Can someone pls tell me what am I doing wrong.

I tried all transponders, but it is still locking 72 instead of 61.5..

I'm in 46410 zip code, if that matters.

Sounds like you need to raise the dish a few degrees and swing to the left slightly.

Guy with the signal meter is gone.. I'll have to do it manually looking at the tv screen ..

Yup slightly up and to the left...

REALLY SLIGHT!

Might want to mark things so if you move it to far you can get back to the 72 again and try again.

After about 30-45 mins of patient dish manipulation, I got 61.5 locked

When I called Dish to activate my receiver, they said I have old smart card and ordered new smart card ( 59 bucks or so ) . I should get in next 3-5 days.. Hope my channels will be visible after inserting the new smart card....
