Troubleshooting switch question

I think my DPP44 switch or inserter took a crap on me (not getting any reception/channels). Can I lets say hook my 61.5 sat directly to my 622 without the use of a switch or inserter to see if the 622 will see the 61.5 bird? Or try that with any of the sats I'm supposed to get to see if they work or is the switch required to see any of the birds? BTW I have a superdish and then a dish 500 for the 61.5.

You can but you need two lines connected from the dual on the 61.5 to the 622 if bypassing the dpp44.

You'll most likely need a good long piece of of coax for testing purposes.

Hve you tried unplugging the powe supply of the DPP44 from the outlet and waiting about five minutes the re-plugging. I have found the DPP44 to be more semsotove to a low voltage situation that sometimes happens without your knowledge than to a power surge. When it happens to me the switch resets itself when the power supply is un-hooked. Just my 2 cents.
