Hello Satellite experts;
I have bought a new LNBF GT-S40 with a 0.2 dB to improve the signal quality I'm getting from the FTA Galaxy 25 (used to be IA5) where I never managed to go beyond 46% on the strongest transponder!
Well, I installed the new LNBF and my new signal quality is 0% :mad:
I rotated that thing for 30 minutes without success and it came
without a user manual (brand new in a Box).

I will appreciate any help to get some good signal, I have not changed any receiver settings, the receiver is Chang Hong model
S3600-MG

Thanks

Rob

Was the old LNBF that you replaced a standard? If so, you'll have to change your receiver setup to read L.O. 9750/10600 to match your new universal LNBF.

Hi again;
Still no success getting any signal quality with the new LNB. However, I verified the
signal strength is 10% higher than on the old LNB (I know signal strength is not
what matters ..just wanted to ley you guys know)

Tron, your comment makes perfect sense, however I could not find anywhere in
the receiver (chang hong) menus where I can change the L.O, the LNB settings
menu doesnot have an entry for L.O configuration!

LNB sticker reads:
Universal Single 40mm LNBF
Input: 10.7 - 12.75 GHz
L.O: 9.75 / 10.6 Ghz
N.F: 0.2 dB

Any help/hint is much appreciated

Rob

It's me again, I think I figured it out:
My old LNBF is a standard that had an L.O of 10750, the new one is
universal and hence an L.O 9.75/10.6 GHz
Now my mistake is that I took the LNB frequrency low and LNB frequence high
on the LNB settings menu of the receiver to be the input frequency Low and High
while I now think are the L.O settings which I need to update to 9.75 Low and 10.6
High as per the L.O of the new LNB!!
It's too late to try it tonight (I have the old LNB on the dish) , I'll give it a shot first
thing tomorrow and let you know.
gurus..Any comments?

Rob
