OTHER Trouble with MOTECK VBOX III losing satellite positions

Hi,

my MOTECK VBOX III positioner is loosing sat positions when unplugged.
My electronic skills are quite limited but I'm suspecting the 93C56 chip to be defective (based on board found in another thread):

Do you think it's worth replacing the chip ?
Any idea welcome!

Why not try? Looks like it would be easy to remove and replace.

Yep good chance the EEPROM has had too many writes.
