It is aimed at Galaxy 16(G-R4) at 99.0 West. The analog channels come in excellent on my old C-band receiver. The Traxis 3500 can't find anything with the AutoScan feature. Where do I go from here? Mqmshore p.s. merry christmas

Thanks Lak7, my 3500 is getting the satellite signal from a splitter which feeds both the analog and traxis. The traxis is sending the picture to another monitor using the RCA jacks.
The LNB settings: at LNB type: I have user: 1st freq: 5150, 2nd freq: 5150

Thanks Lak7, The traxs is fed by a splitter which feeds both analog and traxis which in turn feeds its signal to a monitor using the RCA jacks. I use the analog to position on sat. and to skew.
NB settings: at LNB type I have user at 1st freq 5150 and 2nd freq the same

Are you using the Proper High Freq. Splitter?
If so, try:
LNB Type:Standard
Freq: 5150 for C Band

If nothing, in the Traxix Manual Scan Menu, pull up Galaxy 16 @ 99west and see if you can find this TP:
3845
H
12296

See if that TP has Quality

Thanks, the traxis is fed the dish signal through a splitter which also feeds the analog receiver. the traxis then feeds its signal to a monitor via RCA jacks. The LNB settings: at user: 1st freq. 5150 2nd freq 5150.

Sorry about the confusing number of replies. I'm a novice. It looks like my traxis is an older version because the sat. is galaxy 4r. It also requires a TP index which I can't find in any of the reference sheets.

are you sure you are on the right polarity?

Analog channel (shepherds Chapel) is V and the nets are on H

This is where it's at now: The satellite dish is aimed at 99W, the polarity is set using the analog receiver skew, the satellite cable is hooked directly to the 3500 but there is a gender adapter between the cable lengths, the 3500 is providing the power to the LNB. It looks like all the numbers are correct. Question: do you think that there is any chance that the 3500 has incurred a failure when I tell you that there was some smoke coming from out the top right back corner of the unit? It was extremely hot at that spot of the case. Even though I'm still seeing all the on screen displays.

It was extremely hot at that spot of the case.
"was" is the key word, is it hot now, or is it working OK?

Try a TP Scan of a known Live TP, remember to change Polarity on the Analog Receiver to match.

You answered one of my questions and that was will the skew that alignes the analog work for the digital as well? Now as far as the hot spot: it seems normal now. Even if I am looking right at the satellite and tune in the TP it still doesn't pick up anything. Here's another twist. During the summer I ran over the wire with the lawn mower and to expidite things I twisted the wire together and used a wire nut on it. The analog didn't suffer any quality. I'm almost ready to try another brand!

You will either need to replace the entire coax or install fittings on each of the broken ends (after cleanly cutting them) and use a barrel connector to join them. Coax must maintain proper shape and be totally shielded, or it will not work properly.
